Downtown Jingle 5K
The Downtown Jingle 5K is an annual holiday-themed running event held in Providence, Rhode Island. The event features multiple participation options centered around Memorial Boulevard and the Providence Place area. Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 0.25 Miles Youth Run
- 5 km Virtual Run/Walk
The 5 km course is open to both runners and walkers, and all participants are chip-timed for accuracy. For safety reasons, those participating with baby strollers are required to line up at the back of the starting group. Pets are not permitted on the course.
The event includes a youth-specific race known as the Kids Elves Run. Additionally, a virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Virtual participants may pick up their shirts at designated times or have them mailed after the event. This virtual race is recognized for several regional race series, including the Run Rhody Grand Slam.
Awards are presented to the top three individual finishers overall and across various age categories ranging from under 19 to 70 and over. Individual results are based on gun time, while team awards, which recognize the top three scorers from unlimited entries, are based on chip times. All participants who register online receive a t-shirt, though shirt availability is not guaranteed for those who register on the day of the event.
