Shelter Dog Dash
The Shelter Dog Dash is a community fundraising run and walk taking place on February 13, 2027 at Freestone District Park, East Juniper Avenue, Gilbert, AZ. The event is organized by One Love Arizona and managed by StartLine Racing. It is the sixth annual presentation of a 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk that raises funds for local shelter dog programs.
Funds from the event support the Shelter Dog Project, founded in 2015, which focuses on training, medical care, marketing, and post-adoption support to remove barriers to adoption. Funds also support free spay and neuter clinics for at-risk mixes and an 11-week in-prison dog training program that pairs incarcerated individuals with shelter dogs.

All participants receive a custom finisher's medal and event T-shirt, with options to upgrade or select no shirt. The 5K includes male and female age group awards for the top three in each age group. Events are chip timed with real-time results and photos available online or via the mobile app. The course is pet friendly with leashed dogs required to remain 6 feet apart and no retractable leashes; wheelchairs and strollers are permitted while roller blades, skateboards, wagons, and motorized devices are not.
