Event overview
Shelter Dog Dash takes place on February 14, 2026, at Freestone District Park, East Juniper Avenue, Gilbert, AZ. The event is organized by One Love Arizona and managed by StartLine Racing. It is the fifth annual staging of the event and raises funds for programs that support at-risk shelter dogs, including the Shelter Dog Project, free spay/neuter and vaccination clinics for select breeds, and an 11-week in-prison dog training program.

Registration fees vary by entry type and date and include mandatory processing fees. The 5K registration ranges from about $30 to $45 plus processing fees depending on the registration period. The 1 Mile entry is listed at $25 plus processing fee for most registration dates. The Virtual Dash fee is listed at $35 plus processing fee and includes shipping of event items for U.S. addresses only.
All participants receive a custom finisher medal and a custom event T-shirt (with upgrade and no-shirt options available). The 5K has age-group awards for top three in each listed age division. The event uses chip timing with real-time results and photos. Race rules note that wheelchairs and strollers are welcome, pets are allowed on leash with spacing and no retractable leashes, and roller blades, skateboards, wagons, and motorized devices are prohibited.
