Purpose and supported programs
Proceeds support One Love Arizona programs for at-risk shelter dogs in Maricopa County. Fundraising benefits the Shelter Dog Project, which provides training, medical care, marketing, and post-adoption support; free spay/neuter and vaccination clinics focused on pit bull, shepherd, and husky mixes; and an 11-week in-prison dog training program that pairs incarcerated individuals with shelter dogs.
Registration, amenities and logistics
Registration fees vary by date; 5K pricing ranges from $30 to $45 plus processing fee, the 1 Mile is listed at $25 plus processing fee, and the Virtual Dash is listed at $35 plus processing fee. All participants receive a custom finisher medal and event t-shirt (with upgrade and no-shirt options). The 5K is chip timed with real time results and photos available online or via a mobile app. Male and female age group awards are given to the top three in each age division from 8 & Under through 80 & Over. Packet pickup is available the day before at Solstice Fitness in Mesa and at the race location on event day. Wheelchairs and strollers are allowed on course. The event is leashed pet friendly with a requirement that dogs be kept 6 ft apart and no retractable leashes. Roller blades, skateboards, wagons, and motorized devices are not permitted. There is no bag check. The event proceeds rain or shine; there are no weather refunds. Virtual registrations are restricted to US addresses and race items ship after the event.
