About the race
The Shawangunk Valley 5 Miler & 1-Mile Kids Run is a scenic running event held in Wallkill, New York, benefiting the Shawangunk Valley Fire Company. The main race features a rolling, rural 5-mile loop that passes fields, orchards, and a vineyard, with beautiful views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge, finishing with a downhill to flat stretch. A 1-mile kids run is also offered as an out-and-back course.
The event includes awards for overall and age group winners, as well as first responders. Participants registered early receive T-shirts, and all finishers earn medals.
