Shawangunk Valley 5 Miler and 1-Mile Kids Run
The event comprises two running distances at the Shawangunk Valley Fire House, 2150 Bruynswick Road, Wallkill, NY. The race benefits the Shawangunk Valley Fire Company and is a member of the Orange Runners Club Grand Prix.

The 5-mile course is described as a rolling, rural loop that finishes downhill to flat. The route passes fields, orchards, and a vineyard and provides views of the Shawangunk Mountain ridge. The kids run is an out-and-back course.
Registration details note different pricing tiers: online pre-registration and mail-in pre-registration fees differ, and a separate race day fee applies. Long-sleeve T-shirts are guaranteed to 5-mile entrants who register by September 21. All participants receive a finisher medal. The kids run lists shirts and medals for participants and awards for the top three girls and top three boys.
Awards for the 5-miler include overall male and female and multiple male and female age groups, plus overall first responder awards. Event restrictions specify no headphones, no baby strollers, no roller blades, and no dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
