We Can Be Heroes 5K : 9th Annual community run and kids fun run
The event takes place on October 25, 2026, at Orange County Airport in Montgomery, NY. It includes multiple short-distance events for different ages and participation types.

The 5K run and walk have a registration fee of $20. The Kids Fun Run is free. Registration for the 5K events opens on February 27, 2026 and closes on August 30, 2026; Kids Fun Run registration remains open through the event date. Participants who register by October 6 receive a complimentary race shirt. Packet pick-up begins at 8:30 AM and light refreshments are provided.
Organizers describe the course as flat. Awards are given for top finishers in each age group in the 5K. Participants in costume are entered to win a prize. Corporate and community teams are supported with discounted runner registration pricing and a listing on the 5K registration page; organizers recommend matching shirts or themed attire for teams.
All proceeds benefit Fearless! Hudson Valley, a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Orange and Sullivan Counties that provides free and confidential services for victims of abuse and violence, including education, prevention, advocacy, shelter, and other comprehensive services.
