Sharpness 4 returns for its second year as a single undulating lap road race mostly on quiet country lanes. The course covers 4 miles with 260 feet of climb and is part of the 2026 Gloucestershire AAA Road Race Series.

The race starts and finishes at the Sharpness Sports and Social Club, where parking, toilets and refreshments are available. The route begins with a short out and back alongside the docks, crosses Sharpness High Bridge, proceeds down to the village centre, follows an anti clockwise loop back to the bridge and finishes straight into the club. All finishers receive a hot drink and a medal.

Prizes are awarded to the first three men and women and to veteran categories in five year age groups up to V80 plus. A discounted entry fee of £5 is available for runners aged 15 to 19 on race day; this discount is applied after answering an additional question on the entry form.

Entries are only accepted via Entry Central before the end of Thursday 1st October. Refunds may be made less a charge of around £2; places may be exchanged free of charge up to 20.00 on entry closing day by contacting Dursley Running Club. Organisers are obliged to provide relevant to care medical details to the first aid provider before the race, so entrants should complete the medical question on the entry form and update organisers if circumstances change.

There is an option to stay for a roast Sunday lunch from 12 noon onwards at the club; reservations are advised. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
