Shamrock Marathon Weekend
Shamrock Marathon Weekend runs March 19 to 21, 2027 in Virginia Beach. The event offers multiple race options and associated weekend activities across the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
The principal race distances are:
- 26.2 miles Marathon
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon
- 8K 8K race
- 1 mile Final Mile and a Leprechaun Dash
The course is described as flat, fast, and scenic with an oceanfront finish near the King Neptune statue. A multi day post race celebration takes place on the beach at 28th Street and includes live music, photo opportunities, and Yuengling beer under a large tent.
Event weekend features include the Lovato Electric Shamrock Sports & Fitness Expo at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, a run club alley where 22 local run clubs occupy several blocks of the oceanfront, and visible community support from local businesses and residences along the course. The weekend also lists additional challenges and series connections such as the Dolphin and Whale Challenge and other Coastal Virginia series events.
