Tacky Sweater 5K
The Tacky Sweater 5K is an annual holiday-themed event held in Norfolk, Virginia. Now in its seventh year, the race supports EVMS Melanoma Awareness, specifically raising funds for EVMS Dermatology and the Dermatology Student Group. The event provides an on-site course for participants as well as a virtual option for those who prefer to complete the distance independently.
The course begins and ends in front of Smartmouth Brewery, located in the Chelsea District. The route follows the Elizabeth River Trail, passing through West Ghent and Plum Point Park along the Elizabeth River. Participants cross over the Mid-Town Tunnel during the loop. The event consists of the following distances:

- 5K (Virtual)
Registered participants receive a custom finisher medal upon completing the race. Those opting for the virtual category can complete their distance on any course between December 4th and 5th, tracking their progress through mobile applications.
The venue hosts several associated activities, including a packet pickup session on the Friday before the race. This session features a festive gathering with a visit from the Krampus parade. Following the race, an event at Smartmouth Brewery includes food, entertainment, awards, and giveaways. A tacky sweater contest is also part of the post-race programming.
