Event overview
The Twelfth Annual Tacky Sweater 5K is a Christmas-themed 5K run and 5K walk in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The event is produced by Mettle Events and benefits EVMS Dermatology and the Dermatology Student Group. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at Smartmouth Brewery, and there is a post-race party at Smartmouth Brewery with food, entertainment, and a tacky sweater contest.

Race details, prizes and registration
The course starts and finishes in front of Smartmouth Brewery in the Chelsea District and loops along the Elizabeth River Trail, through West Ghent, over the Mid Town Tunnel, and through Plum Point Park. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female in each age group (12 and under; 13-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 and over). Top three male and female competitive walkers are also awarded, and there are special prizes for top male and female tacky sweaters. Team competitions include Largest Team and Fastest Team awards, with a champion belt for winning teams. Registration fees are listed as $35 (regular until 11/03/2025), $40 (late until 12/5/2025), and $45 (race day). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
