About the race
The BayPort Surf N Santa 5 Miler presented by Sentara is an evening road event on December 12, 2026 that runs along the Virginia Beach oceanfront and finishes inside the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The event includes a shorter community race, Rudolph’s 1K, and a post-race celebration held at the Convention Center.

The 5 Miler course is described as flat and fast along the oceanfront at twilight. Course support includes water stops approximately every 2 miles, a Gingerbread Stop with a gingerbread cookie, and portable toilets at the start and finish and adjacent to each water stop. Packet pickup and the start/finish area are located at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
2026 participant items and finishers features are confirmed to include a participant shirt and a finisher medal. All finishers receive a unique bottle opener medal. The event has a Team Naughty or Team Nice theme for participants to choose between. A post-race celebration is held inside the Convention Center with live music, beer, food, and a themed atmosphere.
