Seven Sevens Race
The Seven Sevens is a mountain running event held in County Down. The course covers a distance of 31.00 km and involves a total elevation gain of 2800 meters. Organised by the Belfast Association of Rockclimbers and Fellrunners (BARF), the race is classified with a difficulty rating of 5.
The terrain is described as moderate, but the route requires navigation skills as only the major junctions are marked. Participants are not permitted to use GPS devices during the event. Due to the nature of the course and the mountain environment, specific mandatory kit requirements are in place to ensure safety.
Required equipment for all participants includes:
- Waterproof jacket
- Hat or buff and gloves
- Whistle and foil blanket or bivvy bag
- Charged mobile phone with emergency number stored
The event takes place on Saturday, 8th August, 2026. The route focuses on the peaks within the region, providing a significant vertical challenge over the 31 km distance.
