About the race
The 23rd Annual Serpent's Back Mountain Bike Duathlon takes place on October 11, 2026 at the Serpent's Back Event Site in Montauk, NY. The event is an in-person multisport competition with individual, bike-only, and team relay options.
Distances and entry types:
- Individual Duathlon: 1.6 mile run, 11.5 mile bike, 1.6 mile run
- Bike Only: 11.5 mile bike
- Duo Relay: two-person team with one runner and one biker
All registrants receive a classic hoodie sweatshirt. Additional event amenities include pizza and raffles after the event, live results delivered by text and email, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for entries made at least three weeks before the event. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall in the individual duathlon and bike divisions, and to the top three relay teams in male, female, and mixed categories.
Registration fees include a processing charge and are non-refundable; fee levels vary by registration period and options. Proceeds support the Montauk Playhouse proposed community pool construction. Bib pickup requires knowing a bib number; entrants who register more than 24 hours in advance will receive their number before pickup, and late registrants may use a self lookup process.
