May Day 5K Run/Walk : Main Beach, East Hampton
The May Day event is a community 5K run/walk held at Main Beach in East Hampton. The event includes on-site packet pickup, with an additional pre-race pickup at the Main Beach Pavilion. The first 400 participants to collect their packet receive a T-shirt.
Amenities listed for the event include refreshments, music, an awards ceremony, live and same-day online or text results, free finish-line photos, and personalized bibs for participants who register three weeks in advance. Free parking is available near the course.
Course and participant guidelines note that dogs are not allowed on the race course and that participants using strollers should start at the back. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to the top three finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Proceeds from the event are designated for the Tyler Project, an organization focused on mental health awareness, counseling, and educational services related to youth and cyberbullying.
