May Day 5K Run/Walk, Main Beach East Hampton
The May Day 5K Run/Walk is a community road event held at Main Beach in East Hampton. The event includes a 5 kilometer course for runners and walkers and offers on-site amenities such as refreshments, music, and an awards ceremony. The first 400 participants who pick up their race packet receive a T-shirt. Personalized bibs are available for those who register at least three weeks in advance.
Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at the Main Beach Pavilion from 3 to 5 pm. Race day registration and packet pickup open at 7 am; bib number is required for pickup. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours of the race receive their bib number by text shortly after registering. Live online, text, and email results are provided, and finish line photos and same-day video are offered free of charge.
Course rules note that no dogs are allowed and that participants using strollers should start at the back of the field. Free parking is available near the venue.
Proceeds from the event support the TYLER PROJECT. That organization focuses on raising awareness of mental health concerns and cyberbullying and provides counseling, educational services, and programs for students, young adults, and families.
