Katy's Courage 5K Run/Walk
Katy's Courage is presented as a 5K run and walk in Sag Harbor, New York. Registration is not yet open; organizers plan to open registration ahead of the event and will notify interested parties when it becomes available.
Event amenities include tee shirts for all participants, DJ and music, and refreshments such as hot chocolate, donuts, bagels, and other drinks. Awards are given with trophies for the top overall male and female and medals for the top three male and female finishers in age groups: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 to 89, and 90 plus.
Proceeds benefit Katy's Courage and will be used for local scholarships and cancer research. Packet pickup and race day registration occur the morning of the event in front of Baron's Cove; participants who register at least three weeks in advance may receive a personalized race number. Runners must know their bib number to pick up a bib; a self lookup option is available for those who do not.
The course begins on Water Street and finishes adjacent to the water and a harbor. The route is described as generally flat with a few small gentle hills.
