Katy's Courage 5K Run/Walk
Katy's Courage is presented as a community 5K run/walk in Sag Harbor. The event includes participant amenities such as tee shirts for all participants, on-site music provided by a DJ, and refreshments including hot chocolate, donuts, bagels, and other drinks. Race-day delivery of photos and live online, email, or text results are offered.
Awards include trophies for the top overall male and female finishers and medals for the top three in multiple age-group categories: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80-89; and 90 plus. Proceeds are designated for Katy's Courage and are intended to support local scholarships and cancer research.
Packet pickup and race-day registration take place the morning of the event in front of Baron's Cove. Participants who register in advance may receive a personalized race number if they register three weeks before pickup; a self-lookup area is available for those who need to find their bib number. The course starts on Water Street and finishes adjacent to the water and a harbor; the course is described as mostly flat with a few small gentle hills.
