Katy's Courage 5K Run/Walk : Sag Harbor, NY
Katy's Courage is a community 5K run/walk held in Sag Harbor, New York. The event features a 5K course that starts on Water Street and finishes adjacent to the water and a harbor. The course is described as generally flat with a few small gentle hills.
Event amenities listed for participants include tee shirts, a DJ and music, and refreshments such as hot chocolate, donuts, and bagels. Awards are presented by gender and age group: a trophy for the top overall male and female, and medals for the top three male and female finishers in age groups 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90+.
Proceeds support Katy's Courage and are designated for local scholarships and cancer research. Packet pickup and race day registration occur the morning of the event in front of Baron's Cove; participants who register three weeks in advance may receive a personalized race number. A self-lookup area is available for those who do not know their bib number, and recent registrants can receive bib information by text shortly before pickup.
