About the race
The John Keeshan Memorial Montauk Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 26, 2026 in Montauk, NY at the Montauk Chamber of Commerce and The Circle, 742 Montauk Hwy. The event offers both in person and virtual participation options and continues a local running tradition.
Distances offered:
- 3 Mile in person or virtual
- 6 Mile in person or virtual
- 11 Mile virtual only
Bib and race materials can be personalized by registering about three weeks before the event. T shirts are available to the first 600 participants who pick up their bib. Virtual bibs are mailed the Monday before the event, allow 3 to 5 days for delivery. Last minute registrants receive their bib number by text.
Awards at the live event include medals for top overall male and female finishers in the 3 Mile and 6 Mile, and age group medals for both distances; 6 Mile competitors must run through the finish line twice to be eligible for awards. The course starts and finishes on the street, with the 6 Mile run consisting of two laps and the 3 Mile run one lap.
On event day a water table will be provided by Montauk Beer & Soda. Dogs are not permitted on race morning. The event supports local food pantries and Meals on Wheels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
