Inclusive Racing in Stevens Point
The SentryWorld Close the Course Run/Walk is an inclusive athletic event held in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Organized in collaboration with myTEAM TRIUMPH, this event focuses on teamwork between athletes of different abilities. The course takes place at SentryWorld, utilizing the grounds of the facility for a community run and walk experience.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 5 miles
- 2.5 miles
The event structure is built around two specific roles. Captains are the heart of the event, representing individuals living with a disability of any kind. Angels are able-bodied athletes who volunteer to guide and assist the Captains along the course to the finish line. This format ensures that everyone, regardless of physical ability, can participate in the race day experience.
Registration includes an event tee shirt for those who sign up by the guaranteed deadline of September 22. To help preserve the history of the event, a digital photo circle is available for participants to share memories and photos from the current race or previous years. The event is located at 601 Michigan Avenue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
