About the race
Selworthy Stargazer is a night trail running event held on the high moorland of the Exmoor Coast, based at Tank Tracks, North Hill, Minehead, Somerset, TA24 5LB. It forms part of the Exmoor National Park Dark Skies Festival and takes place inside Europe’s first Dark Skies Reserve.
The event offers two route options:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course uses trails and tracks between North Hill and Bossington Hill and includes summiting Selworthy Beacon. Organisers have laid out a 10 km loop with a midpoint cut across to create the 5 km option. The terrain is undulating with a few more technical sections. Weather permitting, runners will experience starlit skies while on the moor.
Medals are a purchased optional extra; bespoke locally made wooden finisher medals are available but must be requested when entering and at least one week before race day. Online entries close two days before the event. Depending on entry numbers, on-the-day entries may be offered; on-the-day entries will not include the option to purchase a medal.
The event notes a commitment to reduce waste and supplies medals only for those entered before the main online entries close. All medals are dated with the year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
