Event overview

The Selkirk Standard Triathlon takes place on 16 August 2026 at Selkirk Leisure Centre. The event is part of the Live Borders Triathlon Series and can be completed as an individual or by a relay team. The swim, bike and run distances are standard triathlon distances.

Course and logistics

The pool swim is held at Selkirk Leisure Centre. Swim starts will be organised in waves based on submitted estimated swim times. The transition area is located in the car park adjacent to the pool. Ample parking is available at the Leisure Centre.

The bike route follows the A708 to General’s Bridge, through Bowhill estate to Ettickbridge End, over the "swire" (a long climb) and then descends into the Yarrow valley before returning on the A708 toward Selkirk. The run is an out-and-back route alongside the river, then joins the A7 to Lindean and crosses the bridge over the River Tweed.

A service fee of 4% (minimum £0.50) applies to each sign-up. Standard entry fees: most categories are £55 until 05 Dec 2025, then £57 from 01 Aug 2026. Family relay fees are £18 until 05 Dec 2025, then £20 from 01 Aug 2026. A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for non-home-nation members: £2.00 (+£0.08 service charge) for those aged 24 and under, and £8.00 (+£0.32 service charge) otherwise.
