Selkirk Sprint Triathlon
The Selkirk Sprint Triathlon is a multi-sport event held as part of the Live Borders Triathlon Series 2026. The competition is based at the Selkirk Leisure Centre and consists of a swim, a cycle, and a run segment. This event is open to individual participants aged 16 and over, and there is also an option for completion by a relay team.
The event features a specific set of distances:
- 750m pool-based swim
- 20k cycle
- 5k run
The first stage is a 750m swim, consisting of 30 lengths in the Selkirk Leisure Centre pool. Participants are organized into waves based on their estimated swim times. After the swim, the transition area is located in the car park directly adjacent to the leisure centre.
The 20k bike course follows an undulating route. It leaves the leisure centre and travels alongside the river before joining the A7 towards Lindean. The path crosses the bridge over the River Tweed and heads toward Yair Bridge, before following the main road back into Selkirk.
The final stage is a 5k run that follows a riverside path in a clockwise direction. Competitors complete two laps of this path before returning to the finish line located at the pool. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
