Swims take place in Sebago Lake; average water temperature is in the mid 60s Fahrenheit at this time of year. Bike courses run on local country roads. Runs use wooded campus trails with multiple bridges; aid stations are located at about one-mile intervals on the run course.

There is a single transition area adjacent to the finish. Only registered athletes, staff, and volunteers may enter transition; athletes must be body-marked and wear approved helmets. Professional chip timing records swim, bike, run, T1, T2, and finish splits. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon; non-annual members must purchase a one-day USAT membership as part of registration. Awards cover overall and age-group places, aquabike, Clydesdale and Athena divisions, and relay divisions.
Packet pick-up requires ID and is available at local pick-up locations and on site. The event is rain or shine; organizers may alter, shorten, reschedule, or cancel races for safety. The standard policy is no refunds; an optional fully refundable entry is available for an additional $25 and refundable until three days before the race.
