Seaside Showdown Series: Cape Spear Path
The event takes place in St. John's, NL, on a route from Maddox Cove to Cape Spear. The listed distance is 9.3. The starting area is the Old Maddox Cove Road Parking Lot and the finish uses overflow parking at Cape Spear National Historic Site of Canada, on the right shoulder of the road when leaving the lot.
The course runs on trail and is not flagged. Racers are expected to know the route. Volunteers will be stationed at key locations to help keep participants on the trail. A GPX file will be provided for use with a Garmin watch or other devices. All routes are also available through the Seaside Showdown Series Strava club.
Logistics noted include collection of drop bags at race check in and limited parking at the starting area. Race registration includes a Parks Canada day pass fee of $7.65.
Registration and bib numbers are not transferable to other individuals. Moving a registration to another Seaside Showdown Series race is possible with advance notice. If the event is cancelled, refunds less service fees or rollover registration will be offered. Each race has independent registration and a season pass is available for the four events in the series.
