Seaside Showdown Series: Cape Spear Path
The event runs from Maddox Cove to Cape Spear in St. John's, NL. The listed distance is 9.3. The course is not flagged; volunteers will be stationed at key locations, and participants are expected to know the route.
A GPX file will be provided so the route can be followed on a Garmin watch or other devices. The associated Strava Club also offers the routes for download.
Race registration includes a Parks Canada day pass fee of $7.65. Registration and bib numbers are not transferable to other individuals, though transferring a registration to another Seaside Showdown Series race is possible with advance notice. If the event is cancelled, refunds less service fees or rollover registration will be offered.
On race day, finish-line drop bags are collected at event check-in. Parking at the start is limited; the start uses the Old Maddox Cove Road parking lot. The finish uses overflow parking at Cape Spear National Historic Site, on the right shoulder of the road when leaving the lot. A course cutoff is set at 11:00.
