Seaside Showdown Series: Cape Spear Path
The Cape Spear Path race takes place in St. John's, NL, running from Maddox Cove to Cape Spear. The course distance is 9.3 km. A GPX file will be provided so participants can follow the route on a watch or other GPS device. Routes are also available through the event Strava club.
The course is not flagged; volunteers will be posted at key locations to help keep runners on the trail. Participants are expected to know the route. Drop bags for the finish will be collected at race check in. Limited parking is available at the starting area in the Old Maddox Cove Road Parking Lot; finish overflow parking is at Cape Spear National Historic Site, on the right shoulder of the road.
Race registration includes a Parks Canada day pass fee of $7.65. Registration and bib numbers cannot be transferred to other individuals; moving a registration to another Seaside Showdown Series race is possible with advance notice. If the event is cancelled, refunds less service fees or rollover registration will be offered.
This race is one event in the Seaside Showdown Series. Other paths in the series include Sugarloaf Path, Deadman's Bay Path, and Mickeleen's Path. A season pass covering all four events is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
