Uniformed Services Run : Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Marathon Weekend
The Uniformed Services Run is part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Marathon Weekend, hosted by Athletics NorthEAST Running Club and NLAA accredited. The 2026 edition features a new course described as safer and easier to set up, with lower elevation gain, a 50% increase of distance in the park, and the added option of a 5k event. The 2026 theme recognizes the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion; the Canadian Coast Guard earned the right to name the 2026 charity as the Battle of the Badges champion.
Registration opens April 1 and closes September 10; the "shirt in kit" deadline is July 21. Events take place the weekend of September 12 and 13. Participants require NLAA membership or a day permit ($5); discounts apply for uniformed service members. Shirt options include a standard tee or an upgraded designer shirt. Course certifications are listed for marathon, half-marathon, 10k and 5k; the marathon course is noted as a Boston qualifier.
All proceeds from the USR are donated to the charity named by the previous year's Battle of the Badges winner. For 2025 the Canadian Coast Guard chose to split the donation between the Legion's Poppy Fund and Nevaeh's Angel Foundation. The recipient charity for USR 2025, The Islaview Foundation, received $15,878.21.
