Uniformed Services Run - Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Marathon Weekend
The Uniformed Services Run is a multi-race weekend hosted by Athletics NorthEAST and accredited by the NLAA. The event takes place over two days in September and features certified courses, with the marathon serving as a Boston Qualifier.
A new 2026 course has been introduced to simplify setup and management. The revised route has lower elevation gain, increases park distance by 50 percent, and adds a 5k event. The redesign also provides more opportunities for supporters to follow runners.
Distances offered:
- Marathon
- Half‑marathon
- Marathon relay
- Quidi Vidi Brewery 10k
- 5k
- 1k and 3k family fun runs
Published fees for 2026 include 95 USD for the marathon, 70 USD for the half, 55 USD for the relay, 45 USD for the 10k, and 40 USD for the 5k; fun runs are free. Discounts apply for uniformed service members. NLAA membership or a day permit is required with a 5 USD option available. Registration opens April 1 and closes September 10; the deadline to have a shirt included in the race kit is July 26. The event includes kit pickup and an awards reception as part of the weekend program.
All proceeds are donated to the charity selected by the previous year's Battle of the Badges winner. The Canadian Coast Guard, as the 2025 winner, chose to split the 2026 donation between the Legion Poppy Fund and Nevaeh's Angel Foundation. The 2025 presentation to the Islaview Foundation totaled 15,878.21. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
