About the race
Joy Run 50 is Newfoundland and Labrador’s trail ultramarathon, held in St. John's. The 5th annual event offers a 50-kilometer solo route and a four-person relay, starting at Signal Hill National Historic Site and threading the East Coast Trail for epic ocean views, cliff edges, and the beacons of Cobbler’s Path and Sugarloaf Path, passing through small historic communities.
The course totals about 49.14 km with roughly 1,387 meters of elevation gain. The event blends endurance with scenery and community, raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, and honoring resilience, connection, and hope. Note postponement to Nov 15, 2025.
