Sea to Summit Triathlon
The Sea to Summit Triathlon is a multisport endurance event presented by New England Endurance Events. The course combines open-water swimming, long-distance cycling and a final run that includes a climb to the summit of Mount Washington in the White Mountains. The event departs from the Spring Hill Recreation Area in South Berwick, Maine.
The race format includes these primary segments:
- Swim 1.2 miles
- Bike 95 miles
- Run and climb to the Mount Washington summit
Entry is restricted by qualification standards for individual athletes. Required is completion of a full 140.6 triathlon or a 70.3 triathlon after January 1, 2022, with finishing times better than 14:45 for 140.6 or 6:30 for 70.3. Prior Sea to Summit finishers from 2016 to 2026 who met the race time limits and athletes who have qualified for the Ironman World Championships during that same ten year period are pre-qualified. Current or former professional triathletes are automatically pre-qualified. Athletes must be 18 years or older. Relay team qualification standards differ and are set by the organizer.
The event lists Habitat for Humanity as its charity partner and describes support for affordable housing and Habitat building projects across New England and the United States. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
