About the race
A Running Passion presents the seventh annual Will to Run Challenge, held during the week of September 18 to September 25, 2026, based in Kennebunk, Maine. The event includes both in person and virtual options and is centered on multiple race distances and a kids challenge.
Available distances and formats:
- 5K in person on the Eastern Trail
- 5K virtual
- 10K virtual
- 15K Combined Challenge requires separate 5K and 10K time submissions
- Kid's virtual Challenge for children, free registration
Registration details and entry packages are specified per distance. Entry fees listed by the organizer include $35 for the in person 5K, $30 for the virtual 5K, $40 for the virtual 10K, $50 for the 15K Combined Challenge, and free for the kid's virtual challenge. Swag and packet contents vary by distance and may include t shirts, bibs, bags, stickers, and organizer items. Registration opens June 9, 2026 and registrations close by September 18, 2026. Team discounts apply for groups of four or more and eight or more using designated promo codes and legacy donors may receive complimentary registration under the listed legacy code.
The in person 5K follows an out and back route on the former Eastern Railroad bed with a flat, hard packed stone dust surface and a pedestrian bridge crossing over the Maine Turnpike. For safety and event management the in person race policy prohibits strollers, strongly discourages personal music devices, and does not allow pets except service animals.
