Will to Run Challenge
The Will to Run Challenge is a weeklong event in Kennebunk, Maine, running from September 18 to September 25, 2026. It includes in-person and virtual options and several distance choices.
Distances offered:
- 5K in-person and virtual
- 10K virtual
- 15K combined challenge (requires separate 5K and 10K time submissions)
- Kid's virtual challenge
Entry fees and participant items vary by event. The in-person 5K has a registration fee of $35 and a guaranteed t-shirt for registrations received by August 14. Virtual 5K registration is $30 and includes a t-shirt and bib. Virtual 10K registration is $40 and includes a t-shirt, bag, sticker, and bib. The 15K combined challenge fee is $50 and includes multiple items. The Kid's virtual challenge is free and includes stickers, a bib, coloring pages, and an event checklist.
The in-person 5K takes place on the Eastern Trail in the Town of Kennebunk. The course is an out-and-back route along the former Eastern Railroad bed, with a flat profile and a hard packed stone dust surface. The trail crosses the Maine Turnpike on a pedestrian bridge opened in 2011.
Packet pickup is arranged locally for listed nearby towns and is available in Portland at Marathon Sports. Out-of-area packets are expected to arrive the week of the event.
