Sea Rim Striders FREE Summer Run/Walk Series #7 : Northway Park
This is a free, public 5K run/walk held at Northway Park in Orange, Texas. Attendance is open to the public and the event uses a mass start format. Organizers require a signed waiver via pre-registration for each participant who will be on course; spectators do not need a waiver.
All registrants receive a wristband at check-in and must wear it while on the race site. There are no event shirts, official timing, finisher or awards medals, or race bibs for these free events. The course includes adequate water stops and EMS or trained individuals are on standby for basic first aid needs.
Participants should expect that not all summer locations are closed to regular traffic; runners and walkers must remain alert for motorists and other park users. The organizer discourages the use of headphones and recommends proper footwear and sun protection. Pets are not permitted on course except for service animals. Babies and toddlers must be registered as regular participants. Strollers are highly discouraged; registrants who plan to use a stroller must indicate this on their registration and complete a separate stroller waiver. Children may participate on foot or in strollers only; bicycles, skates, skateboards, scooters, and other rolling toys are not allowed on course.
Volunteer staff and sponsor tables are present at the event. Membership in the Sea Rim Striders running club is optional and not required to attend. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
