Sea-Hawks XC Season Opener : event details
The Sea-Hawks XC Season Opener takes place on August 29, 2026 in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The event is held at the Pippy Park Frisbee Golf Field, located across Prince Philip Drive from the Confederation Building, and uses a grass looped cross country course.
Distances:
- 5 km for athletes born in 2012 and older
- 2 km for athletes born in 2013-2016
Registration for the first distance is listed at CAD 20.00. Additional fees include a senior non-member fee of CAD 5.00 and a junior non-member fee of CAD 1.00 per U14 registrant. All prices are in CAD. The regular registration deadline is August 27, 2026 at 10:00 pm Newfoundland Time. Online payment is accepted and a small processing fee applies.
BIB pick up is available the day before at the MUN Fieldhouse seating area next to the indoor track or on race day at the venue. Course maps for both the 5 km and 2 km are provided by the organizer. Parking is available at the College of the North Atlantic campus. The event is NLAA sanctioned with Toyota Plaza Series implications and is held in support of Memorial University Varsity Cross Country.
