Screaming Monkey - Keithville, LA
Screaming Monkey is a trail race series held at Eddie D. Jones Park (also called Monkey Trails) near a national chimpanzee sanctuary. The event offers multiple distances on a 15.5-mile loop that passes through forest single-track, equestrian trails, small gravel sections, and a short road portion. The surface is moderately packed with roots, rocks, and occasional water depending on weather. Each full loop has about 1050 feet of elevation gain and loss.

- 25K
- 50K
- 100K
- 100 miler
Aid support is available at the start/finish and on-course at approximately mile 5, mile 9 (drop bag access), and mile 14 (drop bag access). Drop bags are permitted and placed at the aid stations noted. Pacers are allowed only with permission; pacers must register and sign a waiver. Course composition is roughly 75% single-track, 12% wider equestrian trail, less than 11% gravel, and 2% road per loop.
Camping is available free at the park during race weekend; fires are requested to be in pits and participants must clean up after themselves. Limited RV pads are available under boondocking rules and require prior arrangement. Each distance receives a medal; entrants in 50K and farther receive an additional item and tradition awards such as a custom buckle for 100K and 100 miler.
