Mad Scientist Dash for Sci-Port
The Mad Scientist Dash is a community running event at Sci-Port Discovery Center in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 28, 2026. The event includes a Fun Run, a timed 5K race, and a non-running supporter category called Lab-Coat Loungers.
The 5K is a 3.1 Miles out and back course held in the southbound lane of the Clyde Fant Parkway; that lane will be closed to traffic. The race course begins at the corner of Lake Street. The Mascot Dash is an untimed activity and the Fun Run accompanies a costume contest.
Entry fees listed by advance and race day:
- Fun Run: $15 advance, $20 race day.
- 5K: $25 advance, $30 race day.
- Lab-Coat Loungers Sleep-In Supporter: $20.
Registrations received by October 16 will be guaranteed an official Mad Scientist Dash T-shirt with the race packet. Packet pick up is at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Ave, on Monday, October 26 and Tuesday, October 27, and at the race site on October 28 starting the evening of the event.
Groups of four or more registering online together receive a $5 discount per registrant. All proceeds benefit Sci-Port Discovery Center’s interactive exhibits, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
Awards are presented to overall male and female winners and to first place male and female in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
