Scilly60 : 60 km multi-island coastal trail in the Isles of Scilly
Scilly60 is a 60 km multi-stage trail race that crosses all five inhabited islands of the Isles of Scilly and finishes back on St Mary’s. The course follows the coast path on St Mary’s, St Martin’s, Tresco, Bryher and St Agnes and includes rocky sections, sand, sea spray and continuous undulation that require sustained attention.
The event uses boat transfers and requires tidal and logistical coordination for island transitions. The race is strictly limited to 150 participants to reduce environmental impact and manage the on-island experience. Cut-off times are calculated from a pace of 7:30 minutes per kilometre.
Runners must be self-sufficient on each stage. There are no energy stations en route and participants must start with 3 litres of water in their boat bag. Race start and finish points are on the quays of the islands where toilets are available. A sweeper and support boat operate for runners who miss a cut-off; those runners may continue as supporters but will not rejoin the running.
Stage distances and elevation details are published for each section and the organisers provide guidance on kit, boat bags and a suggested training plan. Photography and filming are planned during the event and a celebratory presentation takes place after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
