Schock & Shivers 5K and Cold Water Challenge
The event takes place on January 23, 2027 at Timothy Schock Memorial Lake in Oak Grove Park, 409 Byron Street, Chesapeake VA 23320. It combines a road race with a Cold Water Challenge in the lake and is organized by Team Chesapeake Law Enforcement United as a fundraiser for the Road to Hope.
Distances and entry fees include:
- 5K race; registration fee $35.
- Kids 1/2 mile fun run; registration fee $20.
- Virtual 5K completed anywhere; registration fee $40; shirt shipped.
Registration opens September 1, 2026. The virtual 5K can be completed at any location and any time, and registration by December 31, 2026 guarantees a shirt size. The virtual price is listed as $5 more than the early price to cover shirt and medal shipping.
The event honors Chesapeake officers who were killed in the line of duty and raises funds for related causes. Team Chesapeake supports the Road to Hope and also fundraises for COPS Kids Camp, the Officer Down Memorial Page, and Spirit of Blue.
