SCAR Superhero Run for Scholarships
The Sussex County Association of Realtors (SCAR) organizes the 2nd Annual Superhero Run for Scholarships at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, New Jersey. The event features a USATF certified 5K course and a separate 1 Mile Color Fun Run. Many participants wear superhero costumes.
Scholarships are offered through the NJ Realtors Educational Foundation. Eligible students include high school seniors planning to attend an undergraduate program or Technical School, students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs, and students enrolled at New Jersey community colleges.
Event features and amenities include food trucks, games, photo opportunities, face painting, a bouncy slide, and other family activities. The 5K race is sanctioned by USATF and presents awards to the top three male and top three female overall finishers. Additional awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 12 and under, 13-16, 17-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over.
The 1 Mile Color Fun Run includes a white T-shirt for preregistered participants and is open to all ages. A combined 5K and Color Run bundle is offered with a ten dollar discount compared to separate entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
