The Great Empanada 5K, 10K & 2K Pup Strut
Held September 27, 2026, at Lake Shawnee in Jefferson, New Jersey, with the event area at Arthur Stanlick School, 121 N E Shawnee Trail. The event offers running and walking options plus a dedicated pup walk.

Registration details listed for each distance include fees of $38 for the 5K, $48 for the 10K, and $25 for the 2K Pup Strut. Registration opens December 2, 2025 and closes September 12, 2026.
Finish-line amenities include a free empanada provided by Chava's Empanadas. The first 200 registrants are scheduled to receive a finisher's medal with an empanada theme and a sports tech race tee. A tech shirt is guaranteed for participants registered by September 6, 2026.
The 1-mile K9 Walk and the 5K are both open to dog owners. The event benefits The Jefferson Education Foundation and is scheduled to proceed in rain or snow. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
