SBR Collective Spring Triathlon
The SBR Collective Spring Triathlon is hosted by the Rockingham Triathlon Club at Shoalwater Bay. Originally established to help athletes prepare for long-distance events in December, the race has grown into a standalone event now in its fifth year. The event center and transition area are located at the Shoalwater Bay car park near the intersection of Arcadia Drive and Gloucester Avenue.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- Olympic: 1.5 km swim (2 laps), 40 km bike (6 laps), and 10 km run (4 laps).
- Sprint: 750 m swim (1 lap), 20 km bike (3 laps), and 5 km run (2 laps).
- Aquabike: 1.5 km swim (2 laps) and 40 km bike (6 laps).
The swim takes place in Shoalwater Bay with a beach start. The bike segment is a semi-technical, multi-lap course that utilizes Arcadia Drive, Lease Road, and Memorial Drive, featuring tight turns and two hairpin turn-arounds. The run course consists of 2.5 km laps along the Shoalwater Foreshore footpath, passing through Lions Park.
Two hydration stations are available on the run course, providing water, nutrition, and fruit. Aquabike participants complete their event by walking or running from the transition area to the finish line after the cycling leg. The event is a Triathlon Australia sanctioned race and is managed by volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
