SBFD Company Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk (Stony Brook)
The SBFD Company Monster Dash is a Halloween-themed running event taking place on October 31, 2026 at the Stony Brook Fire Department, 147 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY 11790. The event is held rain or shine and benefits the Stony Brook Fire Department.

Costumes are encouraged. Registering by October 1 guarantees a t-shirt. Runners who register three weeks in advance are eligible for personalized bibs. Amenities listed for the event include bagels, vendors, refreshments such as water and sports drinks, live/text/email results, and free finish line photos. Same-day video and finish-line pictures are provided.
Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, winners in age-group categories (14 and under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60 and over), and a best costume award. Registration examples on the event page show a total of $33.80 for the 5K and $23.45 for the 1 Mile including processing fees, and the base registration options list $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile. Registration terms note that all fees are non-refundable and include a standard liability waiver.
