About the race
The SBFD Company Monster Dash is a Halloween-themed community running event held on October 31, 2026 at the Stony Brook Fire Department, 147 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY. The event features a timed 5K run/walk and an untimed 1 mile fun run/walk. Costumes are encouraged and proceeds benefit the Stony Brook Fire Department.

Amenities listed for participants include a guaranteed event t-shirt for registrations completed by October 1, bagels, vendors, water and sports drinks, live/results by text and email, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for entries registered three weeks in advance. Awards are given for top male and female overall, top male and female in multiple age groups (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), and a Best Costume prize.
Bib pickup is available beginning one hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup, and last-minute registrants within 24 hours can receive their bib number by text. Registration fees are used toward race expenses, are non-refundable, and registrants must agree to the event terms and waivers at registration.
