Stratford Turkey Day Trot
The Stratford Turkey Day Trot is a community running event held downtown at the Stratford Theatre / Masonic Auditorium, 2422 Main St., Stratford, CT. The event includes a chip-timed 5K on a flat course with two timing mats to capture net times from both sides of the road.
The 5K course starts and finishes on Main St, follows East Broadway and Elm St through the historic section of town, includes a turnaround just before Main St, passes a water station on the return, and incorporates a short loop around the park where the former Shakespeare Theater stood.
There is also a free kids run of about 200 yards limited to ages 9 and under; an adult may accompany a child. Distances:

Awards include separate male and female overall champions who are removed from age-group results, and 1st through 3rd place age-group awards for these categories: 9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Long-sleeve shirts are size-guaranteed for participants who pre-register by November 8; sizes after that date are provided as available.
Registration is online only with tiered fees that change by date; the field is limited to 1,000 participants. Bib and shirt pickup is offered prior to race day at a local location and on race day at the start/finish area. The event operates rain or shine; severe weather or official orders can delay, postpone, or cancel the event and may affect refunds. Proceeds support local charities, including the Children's Dyslexia Center of CT, Town of Stratford Community Services, and Stratford & Bunnell High School Post Prom.
