Event overview
The Savin Rock Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on March 28, 2026 at the Savin Rock Conference Center, 6 Rock St., West Haven, CT. The event is the Road Runners Club of America Connecticut State Championship for the marathon and includes both a marathon and a half marathon distance. The marathon is run as two loops of the half marathon course.
Course and race services
The course begins with about 4 miles flat, then has five hills over the next 5 miles and finishes with downhill and flat running for the final 4 miles. About one third of the course runs along Long Island Sound. Aid stations are placed at roughly two-mile intervals beginning at mile 2.5 and are stocked with Poland Spring Water and Gatorade Endurance. Porta-lets are located at Miles 4.5, 6.55, 13.1, 17.6 and 21.5. Transponder timing is used with splits recorded at 6.55, 13.1, 19.65 and 26.2.
Entrant items, awards and policies
All entrants receive men's or women's cut short sleeve tech T-shirts. Custom finisher medals are provided to all finishers with a choice of two designs. Finish-line refreshments include Poland Spring Water, Gatorade Endurance, bagels and bananas. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and in five-year age divisions from 15 to 80+, and award winners must collect their awards on site.
