The 2nd Annual Save Our First Responders 5K is a running and walking event held on Saturday, January 9, 2027, in Key West, Florida. It takes place during Monroe County’s annual First Responders Week. The event aims to raise awareness and support for the mental health challenges and job-related trauma faced by first responders.

Location & Course

The event is held at Truman Waterfront Park, near the historic Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. The 5K course involves participants completing three laps around the park, offering views of the cutter.

Awards & Recognition

All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Awards include a perpetual trophy for the winning "Super Eight" team, team trophies for the top three first responder teams, and individual medals for top overall and age-group winners. Youth volunteers from the Florida Keys Sea Cadets are recognized.

Schedule & Logistics

Packet pickup is available on Friday, January 8th, at Fit2Run on Duval Street, and on race day at Truman Waterfront. The event includes an opening ceremony with an invocation and a guest speaker from the Wounded Warrior Project. After the race, there are refreshments and a raffle.
