Event overview
The Save Our First Responders 5K is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Truman Waterfront Park in Key West, Florida. The event is the inaugural Save Our First Responders 5K and is presented as part of Monroe County’s First Responders Week. The course consists of three laps around Truman Waterfront Park with views of the historic Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. The program includes in-person and virtual options and separate entries for first responders and U.S. Armed Forces, a civilian run or run/walk, and a civilian walk-only category.
Logistics, competition and benefits
Registration is open to all ages; parents are asked to accompany young children. Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Fit2Run on Duval Street, with race-day packet pickup available at Truman Waterfront. The event features a "Super Eight" team competition among eight first-responder groups (for example 911 dispatchers, EMTs and paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement, correctional staff, crime scene investigators and armed forces). The county sheriff will present trophies and medals to top teams and individual awards include overall, masters and age-group medals; all finishers receive a finisher medal. The race is organized by a nonprofit program and lists multiple corporate sponsors. Refreshments and a raffle are planned after the race. The event will direct specified donations to veteran and local youth causes for qualifying registrations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
