Event overview
The Save Our First Responders 5K is scheduled for Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Key West, Florida. It is presented as the inaugural edition and is part of Monroe County’s First Responders Week. The event aims to raise awareness and support for mental health issues faced by first responders, including anxiety, depression, moral injury, PTSD, PTSI and suicidal ideation. The primary location is Truman Waterfront Park near the Coast Guard Cutter Ingham.

Participants will complete three laps around the park with views of the Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. Registration is open to all ages and parents are asked to accompany young children. Pre-race packet pickup and pre-registration are scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2026, at Fit2Run "The Runner’s Superstore" at 211 Duval Street; additional packet pickup will be available at Truman Waterfront on race day. Entry fees vary by event; listed prices include a $30 first responder 5K option, a $40 civilian 5K option, a $10 virtual option and a $30 1-mile entry.
The event features a "Super Eight" team competition across eight first responder groups with trophies and medals for top teams and individual age-category awards. All 5K finishers receive a finisher medal. The first 100 entrants receive a t-shirt. Refreshments and a raffle will be available after the race.
