Event Overview

The Savannah Mile is a running and walking event held in Savannah, Georgia, as part of National Law Enforcement Week. The race serves to raise funds for the families of fallen first responders through the 200 Club. The course begins at the south end of Forsyth Park at Drayton Street and East Park Avenue, continues down Drayton Street, and finishes on Broughton Street.

Participants can choose from several distinct categories based on their pace and preference:

  • 1 Mile Heat A: Designed for high intensity runners aiming for a completion time under 8 minutes.
  • 1 Mile Heat B: A jogger oriented category for those pacing between 8 and 12 minutes.
  • 1 Mile Heat C: A relaxed pace category for participants using run and walk intervals of 12 minutes or more.
  • 1 Mile Heat D: A family oriented category that welcomes strollers and pets.
  • 1 Mile Memory Walk: An untimed walk for the general public and families of fallen heroes.
  • 1 Mile Heroes Heat: A category specifically for military and first responders.

The Heroes Heat allows participants to compete for the Full Gear All Out Flag, which requires wearing a minimum of 30 pounds of gear.

All registered participants in timed heats receive a running bib and a T-shirt. Following the races, an awards celebration is held in Johnson Square featuring food and beverages. Packet pickup is conducted at Fleet Feet Savannah on the days preceding the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
