Rocky at 50 Run - Staines
The event marks the 50th anniversary of the Rocky film and is organised as a 7 hour Time Challenge at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court, Clarence Street, Staines TW18 4SU. Participants may choose their own distance with a minimum of 3 km; a full lap is listed as 4.37 miles or 7 km but may be altered to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames, is fully signed, and is mainly on well made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year round.
Entry prices vary; published prices range from £18 to £35 and a lower entry price of £23 is available to members. Distances and entries are subject to UK Athletics age restrictions.
Medals are awarded to all finishers who complete at least 3 km. Distance pins are available for half marathon and longer distances and are attached to the medal ribbon to reflect achievement. Finishers receive a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available. An aid table and drinks table are provided at the start and finish of each lap with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items.
Venue facilities include toilets and changing rooms. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines TW18 4TP. Number pick up is on the day at race registration. A bag drop is provided but is not secure. Headphones are allowed and participants should be considerate of other public footpath users.
