Event Overview
This event is part of Saturn Running's midweek series, designed to be affordable for runners aiming to build their event numbers or achieve personal goals. It takes place at the Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club in Egham, next to a stretch of the River Thames.
Course
The course follows the River Thames and is fully signed. It is a mixture of surfaces: approximately 60% is on a well-made path or tarmac, with the remainder being grass and light trail that can get muddy. Road shoes are usable year-round, but trail shoes are an option. The exact loop distance may vary, but a full lap is described as 4.37 miles (7km).
Race Format & Distances
This is a 7-hour time challenge event where participants can choose their own distance. The minimum distance is 3km. Participants complete laps to reach various standard distances, including:
- Half Marathon (approximately 3 laps)
- Marathon (approximately 6 laps)
- 50km and Ultra Marathon (7 laps or more)
There are turn points for 3km and 5km within a lap for younger runners. Entry is offered for specific distance targets from 3km to Ultra Marathon.
Facilities & Amenities
- All finishers who complete at least 3km receive a medal.
- Distance pins for the Half-Marathon, Marathon, 50km, and Ultra are awarded for those distances.
- All finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available.
- An aid station at the start/finish of each lap offers a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese, and vegan items and drinks.
- Toilets, changing facilities, and a cafe are available at the race HQ.
- There is an unmanned bag drop area at the start/finish line.
- A large "pay on exit" car park is located at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds.
- Headphones are permitted.
Registration & Logistics
Race numbers are collected on the day at registration. Final instructions are sent by email in the week before the event. The event is held on public footpaths, and participants are asked to be considerate of other path users. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
