Event Overview
The Running Tribe Races take place on two types of courses in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire. Courses 1, 2, and 3 are based at Chalfont Park Sports Club, while Courses 4, 5, and 6 are based at the Chalfont St. Peter Community Centre. This is a multi-distance event where participants decide on the day which distance they wish to complete by running a set loop multiple times.
Course and Distances
The event uses two different loop lengths. Runners on Courses 1, 2, and 3 run a 10.8 km loop that is 80% trail and 20% road, using public footpaths and woods. Running six laps totals a full marathon with 2100 ft of climb. Runners on Courses 4, 5, and 6 run a 7 km loop.
Available distances by course are:
- Courses 1, 2, 3: 10 km, half marathon, full marathon, and a 40-mile ultra marathon.
- Courses 4, 5, 6: 7 km, 14 km, half marathon, full marathon, and a 30-mile ultra marathon.
Event Format and Facilities
The looped course format allows runners to have a large personal drop bag at the start/finish area. A single aid station at the start/finish line provides water, soft drinks, and vegan and vegetarian food. The course is marked and described as easy to navigate, with road crossings clearly indicated.
Participant Information
The event has specific mandatory kit requirements, including a water bottle capable of carrying at least 500ml, a fully charged mobile phone, a warm hat, and an own cup. A head torch is required for winter events only. Pacers are permitted at any stage of the race, and crew members can be positioned anywhere along the course.
Prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the 7km, 10k, 14k, half marathon, and ultra marathon categories. Medical support is provided with at least one fully trained medic on standby. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
