Course layout and race support
The courses use marked out-and-back sections with specific turnaround points at Staines Bridge (near the Runnymede Hotel) and Old Windsor Lock. The 10 km combines a short out-and-back loop with a longer out-and-back section to Old Windsor Lock. The half marathon repeats the short loop twice and the longer section twice. The marathon consists of five of the longer out-and-back sections.
Turnaround points are fully marked and marshalled. Checkpoints are located at the start/finish and at Old Windsor Lock. The event provides bespoke Magna Carta medals, winners’ slate awards for the first three male and female finishers in each race, chip-timed results, race photographs for sale within 24 hours, and professional medical first aid cover. Runners World rated the course among the top 10 marathons in the U.K. according to the event information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
