Event Overview
This is a flexible, timed running event with a 7-hour window for participants. The goal is to provide an affordable option for people to build their race totals or achieve personal running goals. Participants have full control over the distance they wish to run, from a minimum of 3 km.
Distances and Format
The event is structured around laps. A standard lap is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles), though this is subject to change to a 5.28 km (3.28 mile) loop based on course conditions. Within each lap, there are turn points for 3 km and 5 km to accommodate younger runners and different distance goals. Participants can run as many laps as they wish within the time limit, subject to age restrictions.
Available distances include:
- 3 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon (3 laps)
- Marathon (6 laps)
- 50 km
- Ultra Marathon (7+ laps)
Course Details
The route follows a stretch of the River Thames. The course is fully signed. The surface is a mix: roughly 60% is on a well-made path or tarmac, with the remainder on grass and light trail that may become muddy. Road shoes can be used year-round.
Amenities and Awards
All finishers completing at least 3 km receive a medal. Additional distance pins for half marathon and longer distances are awarded and attached to the medal ribbon. An aid station at the start/finish of each lap offers a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese, and vegan items. All finishers also receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available.
Venue and Logistics
The event is based at the Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club in Egham. Venue facilities include toilets, changing facilities, and a cafe. An unmanned bag drop area is provided. A large pay-on-exit car park is available at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Race numbers are collected on the day at registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
