Midweek Chasing Numbers May 2026

The Midweek Chasing Numbers event is a time-based running challenge held at the Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club in Egham. This event is designed as a flexible endurance opportunity where participants have up to seven hours to complete their chosen distance. The format allows runners and walkers of all abilities to determine their own pace and total mileage within the designated timeframe.

The course follows a signed route along the River Thames. The terrain consists of approximately 60% well-made paths or tarmac, with the remaining 40% composed of grass and light trails. While road shoes are generally suitable throughout the year, trail shoes may provide better grip on the grass sections during wet conditions. The primary lap is 7 km (4.37 miles), though this may be adjusted to a 3.28 mile loop based on course conditions.

Participants can aim for several recognized distances during the session:

  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • Half Marathon (3 laps)
  • Marathon (6 laps)
  • 50 km or Ultra Marathon (7 laps or more)

The event provides an aid station at the start and finish of each lap, featuring a variety of sweet, savoury, and vegan food options. All participants who complete at least one lap receive a medal and a goody bag, with special distance pins available for those reaching half marathon distances or further. Facilities at the venue include toilets and car parking is available at the nearby Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
