Midweek Chasing Numbers : Saturn Running
This is a 7 hour Time Challenge held by Saturn Running at Wraysbury Skiff and Punting Club on the River Thames. The event uses a lap-based course; a full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (7 km) but may be altered to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. A 3 km minimum distance is available via a lap segment and 3 km and 5 km turn points are provided to help younger runners meet UK Athletics distance rules. It is three laps for a half marathon, six for a marathon, and seven or more laps for an ultra. A 50 km option is also available.
The route is fully signed and requires no navigation. Approximately 60% of the course is on a well-made path or tarmac and the remainder is grass and light trail, which can become muddy at times. Road shoes can be used year round; trail shoes are optional for extra grip. Headphones are allowed. Events run on public footpaths so runners should be considerate of other path users.
Finishers who complete at least one lap receive a finisher medal. Distance pins are issued for half-marathon and longer distances and are attached to the medal ribbon. An aid table and drinks are provided at the start/finish of each lap. Finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available. Members receive a reduced entry fee and are guaranteed entry with a mini-me medal pin at each event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
