Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge
The Windsor 50 Ultra Challenge takes place on Saturday 18 April 2026 from a basecamp at Windsor Racecourse. The event uses looped routes through Windsor Great Park, along the Thames Path and to Runnymede, offering views of Windsor Castle and surrounding countryside. The 50 km course is arranged as two different 25 km loops that form a figure of eight around the basecamp.
Distances offered include:
- 50 km - two 25 km loops, 320 m elevation
- 25 km - single loop including the Great Park, 175 m elevation
- 10 km - loop around Eton, Windsor and the Castle, about 25 m elevation
The event provides covered rest stops approximately every 12.5 km with larger facilities at about 25 km. Catering, snacks and both hot and cold drinks are available, with a picnic at mid distance and a hot meal for 50 km finishers. Medical staff, podiatrists and massage teams are present at rest stops, and mobile emergency medical cover links to a 24 hour control room. The route is fully signed with GPS tracking and timing scans at rest stops. Additional options include an Ultra March category for walkers, a Trailblazerz category for faster runners, a Solo Challenger start slot, shuttle buses, transfers, parking, camping and a basecamp bar. Finishers receive a medal, a T shirt and a glass of fizz at the celebration back at basecamp. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
