The London Run
The London Run is a flexible time challenge event held along the River Thames in Staines-upon-Thames. Participants have a seven-hour limit to complete their chosen distance, providing full control over how far they run or walk. The event follows a lapped format where a full lap is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles). Specific turn points are also provided for shorter distances.
The course consists of well-made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. It is fully signed and does not require navigational experience. Because of the surface types, road shoes are appropriate for the terrain throughout the year. The event provides a variety of distance options:
- 3 km
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon (3 laps)
- Marathon (6 laps)
- 50 km
- Ultra Marathon (7 or more laps)
An aid station is available at the start and finish of each lap, featuring a selection of sweet and savoury items, fruit, cheese, and vegan options. All participants who complete at least 3 km receive a London-themed medal and a goody bag, with a dedicated vegan version available. Runners completing a half marathon or further are also eligible for specific distance pins to attach to their medal ribbon.
The venue, The Last Hop, provides toilet facilities that can be used for changing. Public parking is located nearby at the Bridge Street Car Park. Bag storage is available at the start and finish area, though it is not a secure supervised area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
