The London Run
The London Run, organised by Saturn Running at The Last Hop in Staines, is a 7 hour Time Challenge held along a stretch of the River Thames. The event allows each participant to choose how far to run within the allotted time; the minimum official finishing distance is 3 km.
A full lap is stated as 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The route includes 3 km and 5 km turn points to help comply with UK Athletics age restrictions. It is three laps for a half marathon, six laps for a marathon and seven or more laps for an ultra. A 50 km distance is also available.
The course is fully signed and mainly on well made paths and tarmac with a short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year round. Aid and drinks tables are provided at the start and finish of each lap with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a London themed medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances and are attached to the medal ribbon. All finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option. Venue toilets are available but there are no separate changing rooms or showers. Secure bag storage is not provided. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines and headphones are allowed. Participants are asked to be considerate of other public path users.
