Event Overview
Brutal at Congo Stream is a multi-lap endurance event held on a course measuring approximately 3.3 km to 3.5 km in length. The event takes place on a route that passes through mature mixed woodlands and features varied terrain including hills, a stream, marshes, and boggy areas. A notable feature of the course is an old trench system that creates a maze-like running experience.
The event is held at a venue adjacent to Mazamboni Farm, a property with historical links to the explorer Sir Henry Stanley. The central event headquarters is situated in a large open field, providing space for participants and supporters to gather.
Participation Formats
Participants can choose from several entry options for the 4-hour duration:
- Solo Entry: A single runner completing as many laps as possible in 4 hours.
- Pairs Entry: Two people operating as a relay, handing over between laps.
- Team Entry: A team of up to four people rotating laps over the 4-hour period.
- Kid's Lap: A single lap option for children aged 8 to 15.
The multi-lap format allows runners to decide their own pace and the number of laps they wish to complete within the time limit. The start and transition area is located on a level grassy camping ground, providing visibility for teams during change-overs.
Additional Information
Children under the age of 11 who participate in the single-lap option must be accompanied by an adult throughout the course.
