About the Event

This is a seven-hour time challenge event where participants have full control over the distance they wish to run. The event is part of a series of midweek runs aimed at being affordable.

Course and Distances

The course runs along a stretch of the River Thames. The route is fully signed, requiring no navigational experience, and consists mainly of well-made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year-round. The course layout is subject to change based on a health and safety review near the event date.

Participants can choose their own distance within the seven-hour window, starting from a minimum of 3 km. The event is based on laps. A full lap is approximately 4.37 miles (7 km), though this may change to a 3.28-mile loop depending on conditions. There are also 3 km and 5 km turn points within a lap for younger runners to comply with UK Athletics distance rules. Standard lap counts for set distances are:

  • Half Marathon: 3 laps
  • Marathon: 6 laps
  • Ultra Marathon: 7 or more laps A 50 km distance is also available.

Amenities and Participation

All finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins for the medal ribbon are awarded for completing a half marathon or more, including pins for Half Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km, and Ultra distances. All finishers also receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available.

An aid table with drinks, savoury items, sweet items, fruit, cheese, and vegan options is located at the start/finish area of each lap. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the venue HQ from 8:00 AM. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines (TW18 4TP). A basic, unsecured bag drop area is provided at the start/finish.

The event takes place on public footpaths, and participants are asked to be considerate of other path users. Headphones are allowed during the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
