Event overview

The Thames Path 100 is a marked point-to-point trail race of 100 miles (161 km) from Richmond in London to the centre of Oxford, finishing in the grounds of Oxford University. The race has a total time limit of 30 hours and total climb of 1,900 ft (560 m). The course is mostly on groomed paths, trails and paved pathways; terrain is listed as about 25% paved and 75% trail. The event is held under an official UKA permit through the Trail Running Association.

Course and logistics

There is a minimum of twelve aid stations on route, with hot drinks available from Hurley and hot food at Henley, Goring and the finish. Drop bags may be sent to Henley (mile 51), Goring (mile 71) and the finish in Oxford; sizes and collection times are specified by the organiser. Pacers are allowed from Henley (mile 51) only on foot; multiple pacers are permitted but only one may accompany a runner at a time. The organisers require mandatory kit to be carried at all times, including a charged mobile phone, water capacity of at least 1 litre, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle, a primary and backup light (minimum 100 lumens each), warm hat, gloves, long-sleeved base layer and a cup. Finishers receive a 100 mile Centurion buckle; additional buckles and age-group prizes are detailed for various finishing times and repeat finishes.
