Event overview
The Thames Path 100® is a 100 mile (161 km) marked point-to-point trail race on 2 May 2026. The route runs along the Thames from Richmond in London to the centre of Oxford, finishing on the grounds of Oxford University. Total climb is given as 1900 ft (560 m). The course is described as mainly groomed paths, trails and paved pathway, with terrain split approximately 75% trail and 25% paved. The event is held under an official UKA permit through the Trail Running Association.
Route, support and rules
The course uses permanent national trail markers plus event markers. There are road crossings, which will not be marshalled. Runners must finish within a 30 hour limit; there are additional cut-offs at aid stations. There will be at least twelve aid stations offering hydration, sports nutrition (gels, chews, electrolyte drink), water, soft drinks, snacks, and some hot food. Hot drinks are available from Hurley onwards; hot food is provided at Henley, Goring and the finish. Drop bags are accepted for Henley (mile 51), Goring (mile 71) and the finish; size limits and collection times apply. Pacers are permitted from mile 51 and must travel on foot. Crewing and pacer handover are restricted to listed points.
Entry, qualification and prizes
Minimum entry age is 20. The entry fee is shown as £220 (UKA discounted) or £222 for unaffiliated runners. To enter, runners must have completed at least one 50 mile race within 15 hours between 1 January 2020 and race day. All finishers receive a Centurion 100 mile buckle; different buckles are issued for finishes under 24 hours and between 24 and 30 hours. Course records are listed for male and female winners.
