Greensand Way Ultra Run
This is a guided trail run of 30 miles starting and finishing at Newlands Corner near Guildford, Surrey. The route links sections of the North Downs Way, the Greensand Way and the Downs Link and includes a mix of single track, woodland and viewpoint sections.
The run follows the North Downs Way towards Denbies Wine Estate before turning south onto the Greensand Way. The route climbs Leith Hill and then continues west across summits such as Pitch Hill and Holmbury Hill, offering sustained views to the south. Runners return towards Newlands Corner by following the Downs Link for much of the final section.
The event is led by an experienced ultra runner, mountain leader and coach and is organised as a group run rather than a race. Participants are advised to have completed at least 22 miles in training and to be comfortable maintaining an average trail pace around 10 minutes per mile for extended periods. Steeper sections may be walked and the group will regroup regularly. A full kit list is provided in advance.
Practical details include a free car park at the start location and proximity to a train station by a short run or taxi ride. The entry fee is £55 per person.
