Event overview
The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run is a Christmas-themed running event organised by Saturn Too Limited at Dare Valley Country Park, Aberdare (CF44 7PS). The event on 20 December 2026 is run as a 7-hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose their own distance. Entry prices listed range from £26.00 to £40.00, with a lower member entry price available and members receiving a mini-me medal pin and guaranteed entry.
Distances and format
- 3 km minimum to be classified as an official finisher.
- 7 km full lap (4.37 miles), subject to change to a 3.28 mile loop.
- Half marathon requires 3 laps.
- Marathon requires 6 laps.
- Ultra requires 7 laps or more; 50 km option also available.
A 3 km turn point and a 5 km turn point are provided within the lap for compliance with UK Athletics age rules.
Course, facilities and finish items
The route is on well maintained footpaths around Dare Valley Country Park and is described as suitable for road trainers. Toilets and a cafe are available near race HQ. Free parking is provided at the venue. Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat; distance pins are added to the medal ribbon for half-marathon, marathon, 50 km and ultra achievements. Goody bags are provided, with a vegan option. An aid and drinks table is available at the start/finish of each lap. Bag drop is available but not secure.
